I have avoided the humiliation as long as I can, its time to swallow my pride and get this resolved. I have a Hardinge CHNC ll and it has bar feeder but it is not connected now, i am attempting to insert a simple 16c collet into spindle but not sure it is seated correctly. I see the alignment pin and it allows the collet to slip in almost flush with the taper, but I think I need to thread it now, but nothing seems to let it turn. I have a collett wrench on it but still nothing. Hitting the collet close button draws it in a little more but still not in far enough to fit the taper. Help!
