Case in point
We have a VF10 Haas machine. The table top is about at lower chest height. The control pendant is high and it takes at least a 6" step for a 6 foot tall person to feel comfortable while operating. All our other cnc mills and lathes have a hip height table and spindle (lathe). The Haas is fucking exhausting to work on. Running up and down one step really wipes a guy out. Its a totally different experience from my perspective and another fellow machinist that runs the machine. Jumping up and down, grabbing tools, stock and fixture parts.
I have found that even less gets done during the day because the operator feels encumbered jumping up and down then standing there to use more of the brain than the body. What are your experiences? And what is the point of engineering to build such a high table.
