Hey guys, I bought 2 Compact Flash cards for transferring programs to our Fanuc Machines. I keep getting error that card is not formatted so I had formatted to FAT on the computer and it still gave the error. I ended up trying Fat, Fat32, and NTSF and same error. I read about formatting it at the machine. I was able to reach that menu and format the card via the machine, everything worked fine. I exited out and booted up the machine only for it to give the same error.
Its a 2GB card. I called our dealer where we bought the machine and he asked me where I formatted the card. I told him what I did. His response was "Your card is garbage now, you need to buy another one and format it at the machine first. If you format it on the computer first, it will never work again on the machine"
Ok firstly, I'm pretty computer savy so this kind of comment doesn't make sense to me. I asked him if there was a way to fix or reverse it and all he said was, "If you don't believe me, I can give you the number to Fanuc and you can ask them" (Yes the guys a dick, always has been). So before I go and get a new card, does this guy have any validity to his comments and does anyone know how I can fix this error?
