Hi,
I'm trying to set up a communication cable (RS-232 to USB) between a Heidenhain ND 720 and a laptop (Win 7) so that the display data (X&Y position) can be copied into Excel (ideally into two different cells but even one so we could parse it would be great).
The manual describes the communication protocol but I cannot find someone to make the cable for me and I'm wondering if someone either has a cable source or, even better, has done this before. The connector is a DB-15 (15 pin, not the usual 9).
Thanks for any help or even points in the right direction.
