Not really help, I just wanted to know if any of you have run one and had any tips. My shop just bought one brand new and I am getting it going, and I have to train the other supervisors on it when I get it up and running. I am used to a Romi M27, and I typically used CNMG432 inserts for roughing. I ordered 1.25" turning holders for this machine, and both CNMG542 and 543 inserts, grade KCP25. What DOC would work best in alloy steels like 4130/40? With my 432 inserts, I usually ran 450sf, .150 DOC, and around .012 to .015 ipr. Today I threw some 4130 in the chuck and had to rough a dome-ish contour down pretty far, and at .175 DOC and .014 ipr or was getting small curly stringers about 2in long. Upping the feed and speed a bit, I got a better chip, but still not perfect. Any advice?
