I’m trying to broach a torx t-30 in annealed 303SST, 20RC and keep getting an alarm 2055 “turret thrust limit exceeded”. Does anyone know if there is a high torque or high load setting for this type of work?
The max depth before the alarm is .040"-.060" and I need .200"+. I have tried a much larger then specified drill. The spec is .161” and I have tried .166 and .173. It will work in 6061 and have used this tool to do hexes in SST with no issues.
The broach is new and the rotary tool seems to be functioning smoothly. I have tried many different speeds/feeds and re-centering the broach in the holder as per the manufactures recommendation. I’m installing new bearings in the tool holder early next week even though it feels very good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
