I have a 95 4020HT that was originally equipped with TSC. It has the pump and plumbing - but before I got it, it had been 'disabled' and the rotary union was removed.
I have talked to CNCPros and basically, they would sell me the OE parts to put it back as it was originally, but they say its such a poor design that they really cant/wont be able to stand behind the fix... and that it will fail, and likely in a short amount of time. They suggests a retrofit to Lightning cool and that it is a much better design. But its also quite expensive.
Being new to a VMC in general, Im still learning - but can see the benefits of the TSC for some of the things I do, but just cant justify the cost of a lightning cool set up for something that may or may not end up getting used very often. So I thought I would pick the collective brain trusts of PM to see if there might be other options out there for a less expensive fix so that I can at least play with it and see if it will really be as handy as I think about it.
My research tells me that Im likely going to have to either save up for the Lightning cool, or go without if I want to "do it once - do it right" and I have a hard time talking myself into spending the 500-700 in OE parts knowing it wont last.
Anyway, thought I would see what those that are more knowledgeable than me have to say on the situation.
Thanks
Wade
