So they design a very unique case with the battery hidden away. It is easier to change out though...and less likely to get disconnected by accident than the previous wired connector design...so maybe it's not so bad an idea. Any one here know what lurks inside this memory backup battery case ? I suspect a Panasonic BR-2/3AG, 3 volt lithium w/solder tabs....but you tell me. Funny, the manual says to replace this every year ! What BS.... a 3 volt lithium CPU memory battery this size in a Fanuc control can easily last over 10 years.... I can tell from the date code, the one in this Oi-MC control is the original battery...8 years old and still reads 3.1 volts. Nonetheless, lithiums can go quickly when they go, so I'd like to replace this one now just in case. |
