Question for the masses:
What method do you generally use for a finish pass on taller walls?
I have a few parts coming up with sidewalls between 2 and 3 inches high.
Do you generally prefer finishing all in one pass using a long flute end mill, or multiple depth passes with a relieved shank tool?
Parts will be 6061 Al. I will probably leave .010-.020" for the finish pass.
I will probably use a 3/4" Diameter - 3" Flute - 3 Flute aluminum specific tool from Maritool (man that is allot of threes...).
Machine is a VF-4ss.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
