G92 and M30 on lathe with absolute encoders

I'm just setting up a used Clausing Colchester 4000 CNC Lathe with Fanuc 0T control and learning to use it. It is a gap bed lathe with X and Z axis. It has absolute encoders. The instruction manual says to use G92 to create the program zero. The manual also gives examples showing M30 at the end of the program for repeating the cycle. Problem is that unless it returns to the program zero at the beginning of the program, the g92 gets thrown off and compounds for each time it repeats. So, I used a M99 P77 code at the end instead of M30, then the program returns to line P77 which has been placed after the G92 line. This seems to work well as long as I'm only using one tool. But it seems like there must be an easier way. Am I missing something? Anyone have experience with a lathe like this that has absolute encoders? Thanks
