How many of you rebore your soft jaws once they have been taken out of your machine. I have come under fire due to the fact that I don't rebore my soft jaws on the 3 lathes that I run being accused of "cutting corners". My parts are always within .0005 or less runout on the faces. Most of our parts have to be within .002 or less for the most part. I have always thought and read that if they are going in the same machine on the same chuck, as long as you take care of the serrations that things are ready to rock. I feel that it is a total waste of time to rebore jaws that you very well could have used the day before. I have been doing this for 20 years and it has worked great. What do you all do.
