I'm posting this for a friend. They want to retrieve data but for some reason cannot do so.

If more data is needed please advise, and thanks in advance!

Machine:
Leadwell Lathe
Control – Fanuc Series 0T
Software:
Gibbs Cam 2004
Problem:
Cannot retrieve data from the lathe to the PC.
The following Protocols are set in the lathe
Baud Rate: 4800
Parity: Even
Data Bits: 7 Bits
Stop Bits: 2 Bits
Handshake: XON/XOFF
End of Block: LF
Port: Com1
The following Protocols are set in the PC Com1
Baud Rate: 4800
Parity: None
Data Bits: 8 Bits
Stop Bits: 1 Bit
Handshake: None

With the above settings we can download programs from the PC to the lathe with no problem.
Here is what we get when trying to upload a program from the control to the PC with these same settings - After setting up GibbsCam on the PC to receive from the control and the send button is pushed at the control nothing happens at the PC. The STOP button has to be clicked on to stop communication.
I then changed the handshake on the PC Com1 to match the control. Same problem.
I then changed all the settings of the PC Com1 to match all the settings on the control and when the send button was pushed at the control the PC locked up and GibbsCam had to be closed through Task Manager.

Questions:
1. Does a separate Protocol have to be set up in the GibbsCam to receive or can the lathe protocol that we use to download be used?
2. Does the file type stay the same for uploading? NCF (text) vs VNC (binary) Downloading to the lathe uses NCF
3. If programs are downloading to the control through Com1 will it also upload from the control through Com1 or will that change to Com2?
4. Should an upload bar and/or a text window be visible to see the program uploading from the control?
