Hello All,
I have been asked to machine parts with the following 2 thread callouts on the prints
M8X1 CLASS 3 7DEG/45DEG PITCH= 7.43=.025/-.030 MIN 6.83 +.025/-.03
AND
M9 X 1.411 -5DEG/45DEG PITCH = 8.348+-.058 MIN=7.636+/-.058
I need to make a drawing to have tooling made up ,my problem is that I cannot find any charts with specifications for metric buttress threads. Can I use the standard charts in the Machinist Handbook and just convert and plug in the metric numbers? I very little experience with these types of threads and it seems like everyone else in the company has less than I do. I have google searched this subject and searched in this forum but cannot seem to find any useful information anywhere. This is a rush job so I need to have the vendor get started on these tools asap. Can anyone here give me an idea as to how to figure this out so that I can get tooling made? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
