We recently got a 1994 Okuma LNC8 with an OSP 5020L control.
Ive got the tools loaded in the turret and am starting to set offsets. I believe I have setting the X and Z axis down and entering the tool nose radius is pretty self explanatory but on the offset screen to the far right there is a "P" value that Im not sure about. What does the "P" stand for?
Also Im having troubles setting the tool types. There is a graphic showing turning tool, drill, boring bar, etc. As you scroll down the tool offsets the graphic changes depending on what tool type is set. When you press the Item soft key it brings you to a screen to set the "tool Kind", which again is pretty self explanatory. Im noticing no matter which tool number I try to change the "tool Kind" of, it always shows tool 1 in the upper left. So when I try to change tool 3 to a different kind, when I return to the main offset page it will change the graphic for tool 1.
If anyone has experience with this I would appreciate the input.
I ran/programmed fanuc machines for about 6 years but never messed with an okuma before.![Click image for larger version.
