I'd like to wire an air solenoid in my three CNCs to turn off the air once the machine is shutoff automatically at night after hitting an M30. Currently the machine turns off and the spindle bearing air purge continues the bleed air causing my compressor to run through the night when it doesn't need to.
The basics:
- use a normally closed solenoid so when the machine is off the valve is closed and no air is flowing through the spindle bearing air purge.
- when the machine is turned on the valve opens when electric is supplied to the solenoid and the rest of the machine.
Seems pretty basic
The question: (I'm weak on electrical experience)
- Should I use a solenoid for 120VAC, 240VAC, 24VAC?
Thanks,
TK
