We have a job comming that we need to machine some part out of aluminium bronze (no idea wich grade it is). We dont work with this material often and its usually on the lathe so we knoww that we need a fresh sharp endmill and we are looking to use a aluminium specific endmill (niagara s345 1/2 ticn coating to be exact). We plan on running it around the same rpm has 4140 so something around 3000 rpm 13.5 ipm.
I got a feeling im totally wrong so is that a good endmill to use or we simply should use a 4 flute stabilizer tialn endmill. Are those sfm in the ballpark or is it too slow?
Some tips from people with more experience would be realy welcome before i mess up somehing.
Thanks
Sebastien
