I like to generate tools paths using macro programming for 4th axis work where you can do in a few lines of code what would take many lines of CAM generated code. Calculating feedrate is a PITA.
I don't recall ever using inverse time programming, but it looks like a nice way to set feedrate where a rotary axis is involved in a cut. In CAD determine length of the cutter path and program accordingly with a time which would equate to a feedrate.
Any drawbacks? Thoughts?
