I've started a new job running a Colchester Alpha Harrison XS 1400. I have no previous cnc lathe experience. I've always run a 3 axis vertical Haas. I've started this thread in the hope to gain some help and experience from other members.
Do many of you have much experience on the above machine?
Its a Fanuc control OiTD with manual guide i and a parat tool post.
I've got to grips with most of it so far but im struggling with the residual machining feature.
Tool 1 is ISCAR Cutting Tools - Metal Working Tools - DCLNR/L : 3602069 - DCLNR 2020K-12. My understanding of the residual machining is when you run the programme tool 1 will machine all that it can, tool 2 will the come in and rough out where tool 1 couldn't get.
One problem i have is tool 1 is rubbing on the back edge. See picture below.
When setting the tools i've typed in the correct lead angle (95deg) and nose angle (80deg) so why is it rubbing on the back?
