Rotary Screw Compressor choice time.

My IR 15hp VFD died this week. It is not cost effective to repair.
I have taken quotes from Kaeser, Atlas Copco, and Sullair.
All of the compressors are 10hp, non VFD by choice.

The Kaeser is the most expensive, the Copco being $500 less, and the Sullair being the lowest priced option at $1500 less.

The sullair is the only direct drive, gear driven out of the three, but has a trade off of -10 CFM as compared to the other two.

I figure my current needs at a max of 30 CFM running everything. (including die grinders, and blast cabinet)

I have done many searches of this website, and still have not firmed up my choice.

Currently, I am leaning towards the Sullair due to the compressor being stocked in Houston, and can be on my floor in 1 day.
The Kaeser is 1-2 weeks ARO, and the Copco is 2-3 weeks.

My old and most definitely decrepit, backup piston (Husky brand :rolleyes5: ) is on its last leg, and I'm afraid it could die at any second.

Can anybody tell me why the Sullair would be a BAD choice over the other two?

I have to cut a PO today to get things in motion, but could not ask this yesterday due to PM being down.

Thanks,

Doug.

PS, I posted this in the general forum also, to get as much input as I could.
