Unload of 4500lb Millport CNC Knee Mill

Ok this is the way I did it but do not try this.

I bought my Mill from a company called Rayco. Went up to Des Plains, IL to pick it up. Unloaded it tonight. Learned few things.

1. Most awesome trailer in the world for a 4500lb mill = Drop Deck Trailer! Rented it for $65 for the day from Sunbelt Rentals. WOW are they awesome. I have an eight foot high shop door. I was able to lower the deck and back the trailer in and get the mill under the header.

2.The junk bar from Home depot just bends when trying to tilt up a 4500lb mill.

Loading was uneventful as they have a 5 ton ceiling gantry crane. They lifted my mill up 10' and brought it right over and set it on the trailer. Strapped it up and off we went (after buying a BIG vice too while i was there).

Used a come along on the mill and the edge to get it most of the way off. Scooted it inch by inch.

Then used a 16' board and my 3320 Deere and some loader implements to inch it off the rest of the way. Scooted it off right into place. Trailer was tethered to the truck to keep it in place. Again the trailer made it possible.

This machine is so heavy three of us could not rotate it in place once unloaded on concrete.

Had one little damage - sheared the wire in half on the X servo between motor and plug- lowered the deck and it hit the frame of the trailer. Will need to rewire that.

I got manuals and tooling with it too. The original knee handle was gone but the guy loading it got me a different one and threw that in.

Pictures are being uploaded and i did a walk around video. No power yet but that will come in time.
