Would any of you guys know where to find nice flat ground plates in steel (4140 or 1020 if need be) ready made that could be used as tooling plate sub plate and such or does it always have to be special ordered from one of them places doing that sort of grinding?
Mainly just need a very flat top surface to work/start with 10x16 would do, 12x24 if needed but within.001" flatness over 10-12" would be ideal(unrestrained) which I know ain't easy. Mcmastercarr shows some precision ground plate but a bit pricey and their spec tolerance doesn't seem nearly as tight as what some grinders offer. Would just rather be able to order direct done if its possible. Hard to imagine nobody has that stuff ready to go to work but google was no help.
Thanks
