Ok guys- here is another fun one!
I purchased a stand-alone indexer for positioning in my Tree-Kira machining center. It is designed to trigger off of m-code outputs to advance the program in its controller to each consecutive command line. So, programming is easy, just add an M10 command everywhere an index is required and the controller rotates the amount in the next line of its memory.
Only fly in the ointment is that I have NO IDEA what to hook it up to in the machine control! The manual for the mill says that M10 is an available (unassigned) function for external devices, but gives no indication how to wire it up. I am assuming it is simply a relay somewhere that is either open or closed. I am also guessing that since there are many m-codes that all apply power to mechanical devices on the machine there should be a wall of relays somewhere with some kind of standard connectors next to them. Am I on the right mental track here? Any idea where to look on a FANUC 10M control? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Tom
PS the control cable has 4 wires, marked OUT COM, M FIN, IN COM, and M SIGNAL , so I am assuming a 4pin connector of some type?
