Okay everybody. Machine shop I work at recently bought a new laptop for programming and sending programs to the cnc machines. The old way we had been sending programs was with a I/O card on a desktop 9pin rs232 to a 25pin rs232 adapter that runs to a switch box for the four cnc mills we have. two are fadals with fadal controls, one is a fadal with a fanuc control, and the fourth is a haas vf-1. Anyway the shop went out and bought a belkin usb to rs232 9 pin adapter. We go to the cnc mill and do TA,1 like we always do and when I try to send a program it wont take it. I have verified the com port is correct with 7,E,1 4800 baud rate. which are the same settings as before. I have the driver installed for the new usb-rs232 adapter. light flashes but nothing happens on the fadal. Now when I hit send as it is sending the program if I go over to the machine and hit MANUAL it will show the code going in but it isnt entering it in the program enter screen as it should. I feel as though this tells me the computer is communicating to the cnc just maybe the parameters are wrong? but they match the old computer that worked fine. I dont know what the flow control should be or XON/OFF or RTS or DTR. Dont know any of that.

I am using BOBcads predator to attempt to send the programs if that matters.

HELP PLEASE..
Thanks
