Bridgeport VMC spindle orient question.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question. Our shop has an older Bridgeport VMC 1000, from around 1992. The control system is a Heidenhain/Siemens combo.

During an orient for tool changing, does this machine have a pneumatic shot pin that engages and locks the spindle into position?
Is it held in position only by the motor drive?
